Sometimes your business needs some extra help in the areas of software development, project management, or technical leadership. We can provide you with the right people to help you achieve your goals.

To best fit the needs of your organisation, we offer a range of engagement and billing models:

Advisory

We act as your trusted advisor, providing you with advice and guidance on a range of topics.

Perhaps you need help with:

  • a complex procurement;
  • developing a business case for a new project;
  • hiring a technical resource;
  • reviewing a proposal from a vendor;
  • or just need someone to bounce ideas off.

We’re available to answer all your questions, provide specific input and recommendations, and help you make the right decision for your business.

We provide a number of communication options so you can get answers efficiently.

This is typically done on a retainer basis, but can also be done on a time and materials basis, depending on the exact requirement.

Fractional CTO/vCTO

Similar to advisory, however we work with you to get a global view of your business and its unique technical requirements. We provide advisory services to your executive team, and are available to act on your company’s behalf in technical matters.

As this requires a senior consultant, with specific experience, we only have a limited number of these engagements available at any one time.

This engagement is offered on a retainer basis.

Software Project Management

You have the team and the skills, but something’s not working. It’s possible to get great work out of nearly any team, as long as the processes fit the team and the business. We review your team and project(s) current state and provide specific recommendations to improve cycle times, defect counts, and even team morale.

Your team will actually like talking to us because we’ve been in their position.

This engagement is offered on a fixed price basis, depending on the size of the team and the project(s).

Project Rescue

This is an extension of our Software Project Management service, but is for projects that are in trouble, running late, or over budget.

We’ll review the project and team and provide you with a specific plan to get the project back on track. We don’t pull punches and will normally give you at least two options, from drastic to balanced.

Many of our startup clients came to us in this position. Often they’d hired a team of developers or an agency, had worked with them for months or even years, and were nowhere near having a product to launch. The stress of spending so much money each month and not seeing any progress caused them to look elsewhere.

We’re able to build on what has already been done, restructure the team, refocus the backlog, and get an MVP delivered within weeks or months.

This is a fixed price per project engagement.
